Content & Acceptable-Use Policy What you can upload

This Content & Acceptable-Use Policy is part of our Terms of Service. It sets out the rules for the screenplays and other content you upload to Dekupa.

The goal is simple: Dekupa is for breaking down your own screenplays, or screenplays you are authorised to work with. Anything else is not permitted.

You may upload:
- screenplays you own, in Final Draft (.fdx) or PDF format
- screenplays you have a clear right or permission to process — for example, scripts for a production you are working on and authorised to break down

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to every file you upload.

Dekupa claims no ownership of your screenplays or of the breakdowns generated from them. You keep all your rights.

We only process your content to provide the Service — generating, storing, and exporting your breakdown. We do not sell your content, do not share it with third parties beyond the sub-processors needed to run the Service, and do not use it to train AI models. Uploaded files are stored encrypted in the EU region.

You must not upload or generate content that:
- is illegal under any applicable law, or promotes illegal activity
- infringes the copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property rights of others
- consists of other people's confidential scripts that you do not have the rights to use
- contains malware, or is designed to disrupt or attack the Service
- you are otherwise not permitted to share or process

Screenplays are often confidential and protected by copyright. Do not upload a script that belongs to someone else unless you have explicit permission to use it with a tool like Dekupa.

If you are working under a non-disclosure or production agreement, make sure that uploading the script to a cloud service for processing is allowed before you do so. Responsibility for this rests with you.

Beyond content, you must not:
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
- reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service
- bypass the invite-only access controls or the credit system
- use the Service to harm others or to violate any law

If we reasonably believe content or conduct violates this policy, we may remove or disable the relevant content, suspend or terminate the account, and where required, report to the appropriate authorities.

Because your files are stored encrypted and we do not routinely inspect their contents, enforcement usually relies on reports and on automated abuse signals. We may act with or without prior notice depending on the severity.

If you believe content on Dekupa infringes your rights or breaks this policy — for example, your script has been uploaded without permission — contact us at [email protected] with enough detail for us to investigate. We will review reports and take appropriate action.
